Description

Corporate attention to product stewardship continues to expand as government regulation, customer demands, and market recognition grow in areas such as ingredient transparency, workplace safety, and environmental quality. The size of the product compliance market has grown to over $970 million, driven especially by increased regulations and expanding lists of substances of concern (source: Verdantix Product Compliance: Market Size And Forecast 2018-2022 (Global)). Furthermore, emerging voluntary standards within individual industries and among large customers are becoming critical for market success. What does this increased attention mean for firms and professionals working to meet the marketplace's demands?

Verdantix is conducting a first of its kind global survey of 150-200 corporate practitioners to identify their program objectives, implementation plans, budgets, and use of software and consulting services related to product stewardship.

We will deliver the primary findings of the survey to help firms and professionals understand how the product stewardship discipline is being defined and resourced by the individuals working within it daily.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1) Enumerate the findings of a 2019 global survey of corporate professionals regarding objectives, implementation plans, budgets, and program priorities for the product stewardship discipline
2) Place their own product stewardship activities into a larger context among their peers and benchmark their existing programs among those of other firms
3) Identify resources that firms are bringing to bear on the topic of product stewardship and consider new resources to apply within their own programs
4) Explain global quantitative and qualitative data to their firms' internal stakeholders regarding the product stewardship discipline and the spectrum of management activities that firms and professionals are undertaking today and in the future
