Marcus is a native of Charlotte, NC and currently resides in Louisville, KY. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville, where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education. He is a former math teacher at Fern Creek High School. In his 13 years in the classroom, Marcus is a National Board Certified Teacher and a Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) receipient. He has taught varying levels (advanced, honors, Special Education collaboration) of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and AP Statistics. As a member of the CPM Professional Learning Team, Marcus serves as a Professional Learning Specialist and travels across the US, supporting schools and districts with implementation of the CPM curriculum through instructional coaching and facilitating various learning events.

Description

Engage in a math task, and connect the themes with the Standards for Mathematical Practice and content to promote a safe, equitable, and empowering class culture.
