I am a National Board-Certified Instructor with a Master’s in Education focusing on Learning, Design, and Technology. For 22 years, I've taught a variety of mathematic disciplines and created A-G accredited courses. I'm a recipient of the 2024 John Morton Excellence in Teaching Economics Award and a Mathematically Gifted and Black Honoree. A passionate orator, I've spoken at conferences across the country. I champion an exploratory, hands-on curriculum, designing projects like building rockets to investigate the relationships between quadratics and physics, using real-time banking data to connect exponential equations to savings accounts, and introducing the stock market to the classroom by having students use standard deviation to track the volatility of selected stocks. I've also led a summer camp for African American boys focusing on Black Health and Wealth. I've integrated technology with student engagement, and I've coached educators, believing in collaboration for success.
