Teri Lesesne is the executive secretary of ALAN, the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents, a division of the National Council of Teachers of English; she is a noted expert in the field and represents the needs and interest of all teachers, particularly those in Texas. Reflecting the theme of the convention, Dr. Lesesne will address the connections between young adult literature and its power as exhibited by the teachers who embrace the genre in the classroom. A young adult author will be part of the presentation; that name will be added later.
